About AuraPath AI

AuraPath AI helps organizations turn advances in AI into software that changes how they work. We design and deploy AI agents, applications, and integrations across legal, fintech, private equity, nonprofits, and education—connecting frontier models to the workflows where they can make a meaningful difference.

We are a member of Anthropic’s Claude Partner Network and an OpenAI partner. Our team includes two Claude Ambassadors based on the US East and West Coasts, bringing an active connection to the people building and adopting applied AI.

The opportunity

As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you’ll turn complex customer problems into production software. You’ll combine hands-on engineering with product judgment: understand the workflow, shape the solution, and stay involved as people begin using it.

This role offers ownership across the full delivery lifecycle and the opportunity to build expertise across industries. You’ll work with client teams and engineering colleagues to make decisions about architecture, user experience, and reliability, with a direct view of the impact of your work.

What you’ll do

  • Translate customer workflows and business goals into clear technical requirements and practical delivery plans.
  • Design and build AI applications, agents, and integrations across APIs, databases, and existing business systems.
  • Take prototypes into production with evaluations, automated tests, access controls, monitoring, and clear documentation.
  • Make thoughtful tradeoffs between model capability, reliability, latency, and cost; use conventional software where it fits best.
  • Work directly with customers to demonstrate progress, explain technical decisions, and improve systems based on feedback.
  • Contribute reusable components and share what you learn to improve how the team delivers.

What you’ll bring

  • Strong software engineering skills in TypeScript and/or Python, including APIs, data systems, and deployment.
  • Ownership of production software: you can explain your contribution, the decisions you made, and what happened after launch.
  • Hands-on experience building with LLMs, including prompting, tool use or retrieval, and evaluating outputs and failure cases.
  • Fluency with AI development tools such as Claude Code or Codex, backed by the ability to review, test, and debug their output.
  • Clear written and spoken English and the ability to work through requirements with technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Sound product judgment, initiative, and dependable follow-through when requirements evolve.

Prior FDE, product engineering, or technical consulting experience is useful. We value evidence of strong work over a particular previous title.

Helpful industry experience

Experience building software for insurance, legal, or accounting teams is a plus, including work at a vendor or consultancy serving those industries. Industry experience is not required.

Why join AuraPath

  • Build at the frontier of applied AI. Work with current models and engineering tools on systems intended for daily use.
  • Have a voice in what gets built. Help shape solutions and technical decisions, with ownership through deployment and iteration.
  • Broaden your expertise. Work across different industries, workflows, and technology stacks while deepening your production AI skills.
  • Work with an engaged AI community. Join a team active in the Claude and OpenAI ecosystems, with a Claude subscription and a budget for development tools.

Apply

Share your resume or profile and one system you helped ship: the problem, your contribution, a key decision, and the result. A repository, demo, or anonymized description is welcome; please do not share confidential client material.

About Forward Deployed Engineering

Forward Deployed Engineers are embedded directly with customers to build custom solutions, integrate products into existing infrastructure, and bridge the gap between product engineering and customer success. The role combines deep technical skills with the ability to operate in client environments and translate business requirements into working software.

Originally pioneered by Palantir, the FDE model has spread across AI, enterprise SaaS, and cloud infrastructure companies. FDEs write production code, architect integrations, train customer teams, and feed product insights back to the core engineering organization. At companies like OpenAI, Salesforce, and Databricks, FDE teams are treated as elite engineering units that can ship custom solutions in days rather than quarters.

Typical FDE stack: Python, TypeScript, SQL, REST/GraphQL APIs, cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure), and increasingly LLM APIs and AI orchestration frameworks. Strong communication and the ability to context-switch between technical and business conversations are as important as coding ability.
