Role Description
*This position requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain/maintain a security clearance.*
We build workers for the work that keeps the country running.
We are building an inorganic workforce to help keep the US Government running. Our AI workers are trained on government workflows, operate reliably and compliantly, and build their own tools and software to help achieve outcomes and digitally transform outdated processes.
America is not short on forms, policies, or good people. It is short on hours. Our public servants are overworked and understaffed. For too long, contractors and consultants have made empty promises to solve this problem. Instead, they've wasted billions in taxpayer dollars. We're changing this with an AI workforce that works around the clock and improves over time. On average, we save taxpayers 80% while helping agencies deliver on initiatives and their mission 10x faster.
We’ve raised a seed round, worked some pilots, and are aggressively pursuing major contracts that put us in direct competition with staffing behemoths like Accenture, Deloitte, and Booz Allen. Our product offering also brings agentic coding to the government, with our AI workers capable of building software in minutes at virtually no cost to drive out overcharging software integrators like Palantir, SAP, and Salesforce.
We’re hiring Forward Deployed Engineers to help drive this work forward.
People who are great fits for this role are typically mission driven, incredibly ambitious, and systems thinkers. As a FDE, you will be staffed towards numerous lines of effort, working directly with customers to identify and solve pain points. You will build out applications and systems to transform and automate workflows typically done by hand or in spreadsheets and emails. You will also build legions of AI workers tailored to specific roles to provide relief to understaffed agencies.
Responsibilities include:
- Working with key stakeholders and customers across the federal government
- Identifying key workflows or opportunities for automation
- Prototyping, iterating, and delivering AI solutions directly to customers
- Improving and expanding our core product offering
- High levels of ownership on numerous lines of effort
- Tailoring an inorganic workforce for your customers
- Working alongside AI on a daily basis
We are still incredibly early. There will be capabilities missing from our platform and bugs with the core offering; as an FDE you will leverage your technical expertise and agentic coding to navigate our massive platform and infrastructure to make necessary improvements almost immediately. We’re closing the loop on DX to operate at the speed of tokens.
We are fully AI-native. You will also have opportunities to work on our adjacent and exciting workstreams, such as building powerful tools to automate our own core business functions, and drive forward critical research into custom models, representation based tuning, and advancing efficient AI.
Of course, there are some requirements for this opportunity:
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance
- 2+ years of experience in software roles
- Deep expertise with TypeScript in professional settings
- Familiarity with common frameworks: Vue.js, Elysia, etc.
- Experience with infrastructure: Postgres, Caddy, Tailscale, Kubernetes, etc.
And these are some additional nice-to-have’s:
- Security Clearance (of any level, active or inactive under 2 years)
- Experience in government facing or defense facing roles
- Prior experience in a Forward Deployed Engineer capacity
- Demonstrable expertise in machine learning
- Deep expertise with infrastructure and platform engineering

About Forward Deployed Engineering
Forward Deployed Engineers are embedded directly with customers to build custom solutions, integrate products into existing infrastructure, and bridge the gap between product engineering and customer success. The role combines deep technical skills with the ability to operate in client environments and translate business requirements into working software.
Originally pioneered by Palantir, the FDE model has spread across AI, enterprise SaaS, and cloud infrastructure companies. FDEs write production code, architect integrations, train customer teams, and feed product insights back to the core engineering organization. At companies like OpenAI, Salesforce, and Databricks, FDE teams are treated as elite engineering units that can ship custom solutions in days rather than quarters.
Typical FDE stack: Python, TypeScript, SQL, REST/GraphQL APIs, cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure), and increasingly LLM APIs and AI orchestration frameworks. Strong communication and the ability to context-switch between technical and business conversations are as important as coding ability.
