1st shift (United States of America)### Please review the following job description:

The Head of Forward Deployed Engineering leads the function responsible for taking AI capabilities out of the platform and into the hands of Truist business lines — deploying, configuring, integrating, enabling, and sustaining production AI solutions directly within the enterprise environments where they create business value.

This role sits at the critical intersection of AI engineering and enterprise activation. The Head of Forward Deployed Engineering owns the strategy, team, operating model, and delivery execution for how Forge capabilities land in production across business units — including integration engineering, deployment readiness, business line enablement, change management partnership, and sustained operational support.

This is an executive builder-leader role. The Head of Forward Deployed Engineering combines deep technical credibility with strong organizational leadership, business relationship management, and the operational discipline to deploy AI at enterprise scale across a complex, regulated financial institution. Daily work includes leading the forward deployed engineering team, managing business line deployment pipelines, driving integration and activation delivery, partnering with product and platform leadership, and ensuring Forge AI capabilities are adopted, operational, and delivering measurable business outcomes.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

  • Own the Forge Forward Deployed Engineering function — providing executive leadership, organizational design, delivery standards, and operational accountability for AI capability deployment across all Truist business lines.
  • Define and execute the forward deployment strategy — including how AI capabilities are scoped, configured, integrated, tested, deployed, enabled, and sustained within each business line environment.
  • Build and develop a high-performing forward deployed engineering team through hiring, onboarding, coaching, performance management, career development, and team culture investment.
  • Manage the business line deployment pipeline — including intake, prioritization, scoping, integration engineering, go-live readiness, and post-deployment support for AI capabilities across the enterprise.
  • Partner with Forge product, platform, agentic, application, data, security, and QA teams to ensure capabilities are deployment-ready, integration-tested, and enterprise-grade before they reach business lines.
  • Own business line stakeholder relationships for all active and pipeline forward deployments — serving as the senior Forge engineering partner to business line technology leaders, operations owners, and executive sponsors.
  • Drive integration engineering delivery — including API connections, data feeds, workflow integrations, authentication configurations, and system-specific customizations required to activate AI capabilities within each business environment.
  • Ensure deployed AI capabilities are properly enabled — including user training coordination, change management partnership, adoption tracking, and feedback loop management that drives real usage and business value.
  • Own the operational support model for deployed AI capabilities — including incident response, performance monitoring, issue escalation, and continuous improvement of live production deployments.
  • Represent forward deployed engineering in senior leadership forums, governance reviews, and enterprise stakeholder communications — translating deployment reality into clear executive-facing updates.
  • Continuously improve the forward deployment operating model, tooling, integration patterns, and enablement practices as the Forge AI portfolio and enterprise deployment volume scale.
